Legal and Reproduction

Can I reproduce posts from this blog, in part or in full, in my blog\other publication medium?

Absolutely, so long as you give us credit.  We use a CC-Attrib-SA license, but to be specific:
  • Share it and or remix it however you like, so long as you also use this license for your derivative.
  • Commercial use is okay!  You can share, make derivatives or what have you even commercially so long as you...
  • Attribute it to the site, with a hyperlink if you're reusing it digitally.  The reason we don't care about use of our work for commercial purposes is because - if you attribute it - we get free advertising.  If we somehow managed to get regular visitors, we'd probably put a non-intrusive pay-per-impressions ad somewhere in the layout.  If you don't attribute, then you make money off\get readers for our stuff while denying us the ability to do the same, and that'd be real shitty of you.
  • The layout stuff is generally fair game.  Most of the template is composed of odds and ends we found through Metablogs, each piece with their own copyleft licenses.  Check the Design post for details.

Where'd the template come from?
This template is called "Stripped" by Nathan Rice.  It was converted by Fernando Coello for use on Blogger, and then tweaked by Erd for use here.  I'd give you a link directly to it, but Fernando's old site is gone and I cannot find it on his new site.  Either way, the original (WordPress theme) is released completely free here and you're more than welcome to dissect this blog as well.

How about the E-mail and RSS icons in the header?
Komodomedia.  There's actually nice icons for just about all of the services, and they're released under the Creative Commons Share-Alike with Attribution license.

And the aggregation linkage on the sidebar?
Sociable.  Make sure you correct the ampersand (&) in the code to & or you'll have problems with it (unless they've fixed it.  I haven't checked).  Sociable is totally free.

ErdTirdMans
ErdTirdMans is a Philadelphian computer and games enthusiast who happens to enjoy anything of a taboo nature.  In meatspace, he can be seen doing any manner of comedic stunt, from dressing as the Messiah for a low-budget crucifixion, to filling bottles with urine and tricking his friends into drinking them, to competing in chocolate milk marathons that don't end until everyone has puked.  In between the excitement of being a complete moron, he occupies himself by blogging. On Erd's Nothing In Particular, Ed cetera, he covers a variety of topics in his own voice and through the character of "E. E. White," a precocious, naive, pseudo-intellectual, college-aged liberal.  On NFOpocalypse, he tries to be a video games journalist.

Lonk
Lonk is a goat farmer, so chosen because goats have awesome beards. When he's not flexing his pecs to scare off predators, he's usually playing video games, combing his back hair, or eating beef jerky.  If you can handle his manly musk, you will find he is quite the gentleman.

General Info

Where did Q4T come from?
Quoted 4 Truth came about after yet another a long night of hilarious IRC chat.  Random clippings of that conversation formed a solid week of posts, and both authors decided to start updating a q4t.txt file with other bits of excellence.  Both files quickly exploded, and it was clear there was something worthwhile to be had here.

The trendy-sounding way to describe Q4T is to say that it's a web comic minus the comic: Regular updates of small excerpts of conversations that are especially offensive and likewise especially funny.  The layout was streamlined for this and relaunched a few months later in its present form.  The collected bits of content were taken down and put back into the pipeline as a buffer.

So who does what?
Erd tends to handle the "technical" end of blogging, simply because he digs it.  They both contribute posts, but since the conversations always involve one, the other, or both by name in the body of the post, there's no reason to have the post author displayed in the post details.

Do you guys take submissions?
Fuck no.  I mean, if personal friends had funny shit to post, we'd probably do some guest post thing, but there's no way we're going to sort through submissions by random readers.  Sorry, but we don't have the time (re: work ethic) to do that.  Perhaps you should rip us off by starting your own derivative?  We're not worried: our IRC rooms and IMs are just as lively as ever, and we're just as deranged as ever.

Who's behind Q4T?
Check the Authors post.

Can I repost\link to your stuff in my blog\aggregate\any other publication?
As far as flat reposting, sure.  We encourage free advertisement so long as you give credit and don't modify.  It's all detailed in the Legal post.

Where'd you get the layout\chicklets\etc.?
It's all detailed in the Design post.
